To preserve history through interactive, immersive, educational and narrated virtual reality experiences, along with replicating architecture using 3D laser scans, truly maintaining historic integrity.

 

Who We Are

The Digital Preservation Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We focus on preserving history using the latest 3D and VR technology. Every location we preserve is digitally memorialized as a virtual reality experience that you can control and enjoy from any PC, tablet, or mobile device. It even works inside of a VR headset, for a true-to-life experience that simulates being there.

 

Technology 

We achieve our mission by laser scanning historical landmarks, places of notable impact, and natural sites of interest to capture the dimensional data that is then converted into a 3D object. This 3D replication preserves the physical object and architecture in digital form on a 1:1 scale in the unforeseen event something happens. The data can be extracted into CAD programs for engineering, design, and restoration purposes. We can also create new dimensional floor plans of facilities based on the data extracted from the laser scan.
 
As part of education, we can include a professionally narrated voiceover. We capture the knowledge of subject matter experts in full detail, then recreate it inside our virtual environment. This ensures knowledge will never be lost—but passed on.
 
With everything combined, this helps preserve history for generations to come.
